Offers over €199k for farmhouse with outbuildings on 53ha

Gerry Rowland Auctioneer, has for sale in partnership with Connacht Properties/I am Sold Property Auctions, a two-bed farmhouse/cottage with a cow-shed and hay-shed on c. 53.297ha of “mixed” quality agricultural land in Co Mayo.

The joint selling agents are seeking offers in excess of €199,000 for the property in Lenansillagh, Glenisland, Castlebar, County Mayo.

In addition to the above, the property also has a ¼-share of c. 10.37 hectares and a ½-share of 10.37 hectares of commonage.

Moreover, there are also ruins of another old house on plan 16 and a share of Lough Sallagher with pike fishing.

With these old buildings on-site, there may be “building potential” on planning approval, the agents.

This property is a short drive to the “thriving” town of Castlebar, located off the old road from Castlebar to Glenisland.

€230,000 for Sligo farm

Meanwhile, an “extensive” Sligo farm, extending to 26.84ac in total, has just hit the property market.

Henry Auctioneers is seeking in the region of €8,569/acre for the land in Carrickbanagher, Drumfin, which the firm is offering up for sale in up to two lots.

According to the firm, the land is currently heavy soil, and “well-maintained” grass.

  • Lot 1: Circa 19.54=acres (7.91 hectares). According to the agent, lands all in grass in “well-sized” divisions and are “ideal” for any number of farming enterprises;
  • Lot 2: Circa 7.3-acres (2.96 hectares) with adjoining sheds, some of which require repair. Again, the agent suggested that lands are “ideal” for a number of farming enterprises and are all in “well-sized” grass divisions.

According to the agent, the farm is in a “great” location, close to a range of towns.

These include Collooney (9.1km), Sligo (18.3km), the N4 Motorway, and the N17 is less than a 10-minute drive.

In total, the firm is guiding the Sligo farm at €230,000 for the entire.
