Saintfield Mart has announced that it will remain closed.
The owners of the family-run business have outlined that they have made the decision in light of the Covid-19 crisis.
They said they have been monitoring the current pandemic closely on a daily basis.
‘The right choice’
“We will not be starting sales until we are confident that there is no risk to our valued staff and customers.” the statement on social media outlined.
“At this time, we would like to sincerely thank all of those who have respected our decision, and we do believe it’s the right choice in these unprecedented times.”
“However, we do realise that there are numerous farmers wanting to either buy or sell sheep and cattle, and with these concerns, we will try to accommodate you in the best possible way with safety our main priority.” the statement added.
