Man and woman injured after being trampled by cattle

A man and woman have been hospitalised after being trampled by cattle.

The incident occurred in a field in Appleton Le Moors in the UK yesterday evening (Tuesday, July 27th, 2021).

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue attended the scene. A spokesperson for the fire service said:

“A Land Rover with crew from Kirkbymoorside was mobilised to assist with casualty care.”

“Crews used the Land Rover to transport paramedics to the casualties.”

“A man and a woman were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” the spokesperson concluded.

Cow wanders onto motorway after ‘idiots’ leave farmer’s gate open

Meanwhile, police and farmers brought a cow to safety after she wandered onto the M6 (motorway) in the UK.

According to the Central Motorway Police Group, the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 20th, after “idiots forced and left” a farmer’s gate open.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the CMPG, said:

“Unusual moooooovements on the M6 Doxey after idiots forced & left a farmer’s gate open leaving this young cow to wander eventually onto the motorway.”

“Corralled by our officers to behind this fence & then a joint force of @HighwaysWMIDS ourselves & local farmers ensured she was safely walked off the network and back home after an exciting night out.”

Motorcyclist (40s) dies after collision with jeep and tractor

A male motorcyclist (late 40s) has died following a collision with a jeep and tractor in Co Donegal.

The serious road traffic collision occurred on N14 between Dry Arch roundabout and the Port Road roundabout this evening (Sunday, July 25th, 2021).

Gardaí from Letterkenny attended the scene of the incident at approximately 4:55 pm.

In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said:

“He [the motorcyclist] was removed from the scene and taken to University Hospital Letterkenny in a critical condition, where he later passed away.”

“The male driver of the jeep was uninjured. The driver of the tractor was taken to hospital to receive medical attention. His injuries are non-life-threatening.”

The scene is currently preserved and Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are conducting their examination.
