The council of the Irish Charolais Cattle Society has cancelled this year’s national Charolais calf show in light of the global health pandemic.
A society spokesperson said: “We understand that this is deeply disappointing for everyone, but the decision was made in accordance with Government and HSE guidelines in place at present.”
“It was hoped that the society could hold a show in some format, but restrictions in place at present simply do not allow for that.”
“It was also felt that it would be irresponsible of the Society to proceed with a show at this time.”
“We would like to thank everyone who submitted entries to the show and we sincerely hope that we will see you all at a National Charolais Show in 2021.” the spokesperson concluded.
