Demand was “high” at Ballymena Livestock Mart’s April machinery auction, which saw prices maxed out at £24,500 over the bank holiday weekend, writes farming journalist, Catherina Cunnane.
Leading the charge in the outside items category was a McHale Fusion Plus, while vehicles peaked at £7,800 for a Matbro TR250 and inside items sold to £480 for a Ballymena cow tail pump original.
A spokesperson commented:
“A range of fantastic prices were achieved at Ballymena Livestock Market’s April machinery sale.”
“The auction held last weekend saw over 2,100 lots, both outside and inside, go under the online hammer, with an overall clearance rate of over 65%,” the spokesperson noted.

An overall clearance rate of just over 70% was recorded at Ballymena Livestock Market’s March machinery sale.
The auction saw over 2,800 lots, both outside and inside, go under the online hammer, with vehicles selling to £13,800 for a New Holland 8260 1998, outside items making £16,000 for a Redrock slurry tanker 2050 and inside items topping at £410 for a heavy-duty safe.
