Lease land in Ireland
In this week’s property segment, That’s Farming looks at more land to lease/for rent in Ireland in April 2022.
We feature listings in Co Kilkenny, Co Cavan, Co Longford and Co Sligo.
Firstly, Joseph Coogan Auctioneers has circa 30-acres of what he describes as “prime” agricultural land for rent in Co Kilkenny.
The land in Ballyjohnboy, Graiguenamanagh, is divided into eight fields, with a natural water supply and cattle crush.
He suggested that the land is “ideally” suited to grazing, with most suitable for silage/hay.
According to Coogan, the land is eligible for 2022 BPS (Basic Payment Scheme), but does not have any entitlements.
It is for letting by public auction at Ballycomey House, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny on Friday, May 13th, 2022, at 3 pm.
Meanwhile, Keenan Auctioneers/Kingscourt Mart has a circa 63-acre farm for a five-year lease in Co Cavan.
The farm is 5km from Bailieborough and a further 11km from Kingscourt.
According to the agents, the land, all in grass, is “well” fenced, and water is laid on to most divisions.
Also, there is an internal laneway, which gives access to all divisions.
Outbuildings and features include a 4-bay double slatted shed with a feed passageway, a creep/bedded area adjacent to either side of the slatted shed – both with feed passageways and chutes – and a 9-10t meal silo.
Land in Longford
Meanwhile, Dalton Auctioneers has circa 33-acres of land for rent in Kiltycreevagh, Ballinamuck, Co Longford.
According to the property firm, the land is suitable for silage/hay cutting.
It is “open to offers” but is seeking €121.21/acre, a total price of €4,000/year, to lease the land.
Elsewhere, in Co Sligo, Mike Smith of Smith Kelly Scott Auctioneers has a block of approximately 52-acres on the rental market.
According to the agent, this is “well” fenced, “good” grazing land in Creevagh, Ballyfarnon, Boyle that has a cattle crush and pen and water on-site.
