A 120-acre residential farm with outbuildings has just hit the market in Co Laois.
Hennessy Auctioneers is handling the sale of the “pleasant” and “original” residential farm holding, which is in an area of “natural scenic beauty” just outside the village of Camross.
According to the selling agents, the land is presently in grassland production (fencing and a water supply) and is laid out in “nice-sized” fields.
The farm has a central roadway leading from the farmyard into the middle of the land.

The agents described the land’s typography as rolling fields that rise “gently” with low-lying parcels.
“The lands can lend itself to extensive grazing, silage cutting, tillage use or possible equestrian pursuits,” the property firm said.
“The farm throughout has extensive mature hedging and trees, which the owners have maintained well over the years.”
Furthermore, the property firm added that the 15-acres of forestry are at a stage at which you could extract thinnings.
Besides, this farm has approximately €14,000 worth of entitlements, subject to CAP review 2023.
The property is what Hennessy Auctioneers described as a storey-and-a-half-old “world style” farmhouse originally built in the 1820s.
It has been extended and refurbished over the years and retains many of the features from that era.
It is within a farmyard setting, containing many old-style outbuildings in good condition.
There is also a 4-span modern slatted shed, which can house 80 cattle approximately.
Residence
You can approach the property by a sheltered, tree-lined avenue with rolling lawns.
Accommodation on the ground floor consists of an entrance hall, a drawing-room, a sitting room, a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a back porch and the first floor contains one bedroom.
Services include a septic tank, well water, oil-central heating, a solid fuel Stanley enamel stove in the kitchen and an open fire in the drawing-room and sitting room.
Garden and outbuildings
Meanwhile, outside, you will find a “quaint, well-maintained” garden to the front with a concrete yard surrounding the property.
Outbuildings include a 4-span double-slatted A-roof shed, a concentre apron for silage storage and a cattle holding yard, along with a cattle crush.
It also includes an old-style 3-compartment round roof shed, an old-style 5-compartment A-roof shed, an old-style 3-compartment A-roof shed, and an old-style 3-span round roof hay shed.
The agent is seeking €1.1m for the property.
