Kilrush Mart report – cattle prices – 14-04-2021

According to a spokesperson, almost 400 lots went under the hammer at Kilrush Mart on Wednesday, April 14^th, 2021.

Friesian heifer calves went under the hammer from €305 to €345, while Friesian bull calves made €75 to €125.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen Angus calves ranged from €105 to €205 and Hereford calves made from €135 to €300.

“In the cattle sale, mostly traditional breeds available and in the cull cow section, a lot of dairy types available. A lot of the bullocks and heifers were 2020-born. A very strong trade for cull cows.” the spokesperson added.

Kilrush Mart 07-04-2021:

A smaller entry turned out for Kilrush Mart’s cattle sale on Wednesday, April 7^th, 2021, according to a spokesperson.

They reported that calves “met with a really strong trade”. Firstly, Friesian heifer calves reached €410, while the only Friesian bull calf on offer reached €110,

“A strong entry of Hereford-cross calves and these made €150 to €315 and Aberdeen Angus calves peaked at €185. Continental calves made to €395. A larger than expected entry of cull cows.” the spokesperson added.
