There was a smaller sale of sheep with trade similar to the previous week in Kilkenny Mart on Monday (March 23rd), according to George Candler.
The mart’s auctioneer noted that hoggets/lambs made up to €142 while cull ewes peaked at €135/head.
The new regime was implemented with everyone observing the required 2-metre rule, plus using the sanitizers available in the building. Latex gloves have become a popular fashion accessory in the present difficult climate.”
