Kilkenny Mart – sheep prices – 11-10-2021
According to George Candler, a small entry comprising some 450 lots were on offer at Kilkenny Mart on Monday, October 11th, 2021.
The mart’s auctioneer reported that a smaller sale resulted in an “excellent trade for all lambs”.
He reported that store lambs sold to €112, while butcher-types topped out at €144/head and cull ewes climbed to €125.

Sheep prices at Kilkenny Mart last week
According to George Candler, over 600 sheep were on offer at Kilkenny Mart on Monday, October 4th, 2021.
The mart’s auctioneer reported a “lively trade all round” for lambs and cull ewes at this week’s sheep sale.
“A similar size sale to last week with all lambs meeting an excellent trade. Cull ewes were of lesser quality compared to other weeks.”
“Breeding hoggets were difficult to sell with a top call of €200. This price was the exception rather than the rule,” Candler added.
