Kerry Group announces September milk price

Kerry Group has set its milk price for September 2021 supplies.

The milk processor is the second to do so, following Glanbia’s announcement earlier this week.

In a statement to That’s Farming, this morning (Wednesday, October 13th, 2021). a spokesperson for Kerry Group said:

“Our Kerry Group base price for September milk supplies will increase by 1c/l to 36c/l incl VAT at 3.30% protein/3.60% butterfat and 39.53c/l incl VAT at EU Standard Constituents 3.40% protein/4.20% butterfat.”

“Based on Kerry’s average milk solids for September, the milk price return inclusive of VAT and bonuses is 42.37c/L.”

Fixed milk price scheme

Kerry Group opened applications for a 3-year fixed milk price scheme on Monday, October 11th.

The scheme opened for online applications at 2 pm will remain open until 2 pm today (Wednesday).

In a statement, a spokesperson said: “The offer price is confirmed at 33.1cpl @ 3.30 protein/3.60 butterfat incl VAT for the period March to October of 2022, 2023 and 2024.”

August milk price

Last month, in a statement to That’s Farming, a spokesperson for the milk processor said:

“Our Kerry Group base price for August milk supplies is 35c/L incl VAT at 3.30% Prot/3.60% Bfat and 38.44c/L incl VAT at EU standard constituents 3.40% Prot/4.20% Bfat.”

“Based on Kerry’s average milk solids for August, the milk price return inclusive of VAT and bonuses is 38.93c/L.”

Glanbia’s milk price

Glanbia was the first processor to announce its milk price for September 2021 supplies.

The milk processor will pay its member milk suppliers 36.6c/L (including VAT) for September creamery milk supplies at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.

For September, it will pay a base milk price of 36.18c/L (including VAT) for creamery milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

This is an increase of 1c/L (including VAT) from the August base price.

Farmer members will also receive a 0.42c/L (including VAT) payment from Glanbia Co-op on all milk supplied this month as their share of GI profit.

The Glanbia milk price for September creamery milk, based on LTO constituents of 4.2% butterfat and 3.4% protein, is 39.94c/L.
