Juvenile male to appear before court following fire at Oldcastle Co-op

Gardaí have arrested and charged a juvenile male in connection with an investigation into a fire at a co-op.

A blaze broke out before 8pm on Saturday, October 31st causing “extensive” damage to Oldcastle Co-op in Co. Meath.

A Garda spokesperson said: “At approximately 8pm, Gardaí and local fire services attended the scene of a fire at a building at Railway Yard, Oldcastle, County Meath.”

“No injuries were reported although there was extensive damage to the property. Fire Service Personnel extinguished the fire.”

The juvenile male will appear before a special sitting of Trim District Court at 2:15pm today, Tuesday, 3rd November 2020.
