Online auction in memory of late vet

An online auction will take place in aid of the Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association in memory of the late John Gayer on Wednesday (March 10^th).

The veterinary practitioner, who lived and worked in Claremorris Co. Mayo, passed away from MND in 2019.

In summer of 2017, the married father-of-three experienced some problems; the symptoms quickly escalated, and in January of 2018, he received the devastating diagnosis of Motor Neuron Disease (MND).

He was confined to a wheelchair and required full-time care, 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, which his wife, family, neighbours, and friends provided at his home in Claremorris.

Family and friends have since held various fundraising events for the charity, who played a “vital” role in helping John Gayer and others who suffer from the debilitating disease.

The next fundraising event will take place virtually at Aurvio Ballinrobe Mart via MartBids at 3 pm tomorrow.
