Gardaí in Donegal seized a jeep outside Ballyshannon yesterday morning (Sunday, April 12th).
Officers discovered that the vehicle’s tax had expired over eleven years ago (4,089 days ago).
In a statement on social media, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána Donegal, said: “We understand that some matters cannot be dealt with at the moment but this is just not acceptable!”
“Please ensure that your car is taxed and insured and in a roadworthy condition before taking to the roads!”
Public health guidelines
The spokesperson asked the public to continue to adhere to the health measures and to remain at home.
“We are out all over the county on patrol and will continue to conduct checkpoints in an attempt to keep you all safe!” the spokesperson concluded.
