‘It is the honour of a lifetime’ – McConalogue

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue, has said he is looking forward to providing “strong leadership” to the agriculture, food and the marine sectors.

The Donegal-based TD made the comment following his new appointment last week.

“It is the honour of a lifetime to have been appointed Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine this past week by An Taoiseach Micheál Martin TD.”

“Thanks to all for the many warm messages of support and congratulations. I am really looking forward to the work ahead, to providing strong leadership to our agriculture, food and marine sectors and to being a Donegal-based voice at the cabinet table.”

‘Repaying faith and support’

“It is a particular honour to be the first person from Inishowen to be appointed to the cabinet and I look forward to repaying the faith and support that so many have shown in me.”

“My sincere thanks all who have supported and voted for me, to my canvass team and to my family.”

“I wouldn’t be in this position without you and I look forward to working hard on behalf of Donegal and our country in the time ahead,” he concluded.
