Gusts of up to 100km/h with ‘some disruption’ possible

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for seventeen counties.

The alert came into effect at 11am this morning (Sunday, July 4th) in Mayo, Galway, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath and Clare and is valid until 6pm tonight.

“Later this morning and through the afternoon, westerly winds will reach mean wind speeds of 50 to 60km/h, with gusts of 80 to 100km/h associated with any thundery downpours.”

“Some disruption may occur.” the national forecaster warned.
