Gusts of up to 100km/h and up to 35mm of rain expected

Met Éireann has, this afternoon (Friday, June 19th), issued two status yellow warnings.

Mayo, Galway, Clare, Cork and Kerry are being placed under a status yellow wind warning from 9am tomorrow (Saturday, June 20th), until 8pm.

“On Saturday, in coastal areas and on exposed hills and mountains, southerly winds will reach mean speeds of 45 to 60 km/hr with gusts of 80 to 100 km/hr.” the national forecaster warned.

Rainfall 

Meanwhile, a 12-hour status yellow rainfall warning will come into effect in Cork, Kerry, and Waterford at 11am tomorrow (Saturday, June 20th) and will expire at 11pm.

“On Saturday, from late morning onwards: Spells of heavy rain with amounts of 25 to 35 mm and spot flooding. Reduced visibility and hazardous driving conditions.” Met Éireann warned.
