Good demand for smaller, lighter cattle at Kanturk Mart

Over 600 entries were presented for sale at Kanturk Mart on Tuesday (October 13^th), according to a spokesperson.

They reported that competition was strong both online and ringside for quality cattle.

Speaking following the general cattle sale, the spokesperson said: “Some top-class cattle coming off grass. Farmers were delighted that we can continue with our sales under the current restrictions.”

“Good prices all-round with great demand for smaller, lighter cattle.”

Dry cows:

• 1 AA – 870kg – €1440;
• 1 CH – 810kg – €1340;
• 1 LM – 655kg – €1200;
• 1 HE – 850kg – €1160;
• 1 FR – 770kg – €1110;
• 1 FR – 740kg – €1050;
• 1 CH – 735kg – €1020.

Factory bulls:

• 1 HE – 960kg – €1400;
