Glenford Aubrac Sale Report
Prices ranged from €1,800 to €4,000 at Glenford Pedigree Herd’s inaugural pedigree Aubrac production sale, which drew to a close on Mart Eye’s platform on Monday evening (April 3rd, 2023).
The sale, which the McGraths held in conjunction with MartEye and Mid-Tipp Mart, featured five in-calf heifers, 6 maiden heifers and 6 bulls.
As reported by That’s Farming, lot 12 – Peter Pan sold for €4,000, while lot 5 – Runaway – fetched €3,500, lot 2 – Pretty Girl changed hands for €3,400, lot 3 – Pretty Lady made €3,100 and lot 1 – Primadonna hit €3,000, as did lot 14, Rory.
Aubrac cattle prices
Following on from the report above, lot 15, Razzle, born in August 2021 and by Hussard (AU2168) and Glenford Nextmillion (a Whitestown Leyland ET daughter), found a new owner at €2,900.
According to the breeders, his dam is “consistently breeding well and is becoming one of our best breeders”.
He is a myostatin double carrier of the profit gene – F94L – and myostatin non-carrier of the C313Y, D182N, E226X, L64P, NT419, NT821, Q204X and S105C genes.
€2,700
Next up at €2,700 was lot 13, Rocky, out of Glenford Ophelia (by Whitestown Leyland ET herself and going back to Roussel) and Madison, the aforementioned AI bull.
In the sale’s catalogue, the breeders suggested that the August-born bull would make for a “super” addition for a dairy herd with a DBI figure of €148.
He is a myostatin non-carrier of the C313Y, D182N, E226X, L64P, NT419, NT821, Q204X and S105C genes and has two copies of the profit gene.
At the same call was lot 17, Roman, a fertility-tested August-2021-born bull out of the French AI Aubrac bull, Madison and dam, Glenford Nikita (a Capitain daughter).
He is a myostatin non-carrier of the C313Y, D182N, E226X, L64P, NT419, NT821, Q204X and S105C genes and has two copies of the profit gene.
He has a replacement index of €109, a terminal index of €111 and a DBI (Dairy Beef-Index) figure of €150.

Lot 16, the August-2021-born fertility-tested €2,600 Glenford Ross, is out of Glenford Lavender ET (an imported embryo from France) and Madison, a French AI Aubrac bull, which presents an outcross pedigree for Irish Aubrac herds, with a replacement index of €113, a terminal index of €125 and a DBI figure of €164.
He is a myostatin single carrier of the profit gene – F94L – and myostatin non-carrier of the C313Y, D182N, E226X, L64P, NT419, NT821, Q204X and S105C genes.
At the same price tag was a maiden heifer, lot 9, Glenford Snowball, a half-sister of the €3,400 Glenford Pretty Girl, one of the highest-priced lots in this timed virtual auction.
Snowball, a January-2022-born Whitestown Leyland ET daughter out of Glencara Isla (awaiting genotype), was described by the breeders as “having some serious potential for the future and would be an unbelievable addition to any herd”.
€2,500 and under
At €2,500 were Roxanne, out of Whitestown Kerri and Whitestown Leyland ET, due to calf in August to Otto and Surprise, a January-2022-born maiden heifer out of Glenford Mistletoe and Whitestown Leyland ET, a half-sister to the €3,000 Glenford Primadonna.
€1,950 secured lot 6, Rosie, an August-2021-born maiden heifer out of Glenford Nuna and Dolby, and lot 7, August-2021-born maiden female, Perrie, out of Glenford Poppy and Loto.
At €1,800 were lots 8, Phenomenal, a September-2021-born maiden heifer out of Glenford Oprah and Madison and lot 11, Some Honey, a January-2022-born daughter of Whitestown Leyland ET and Altamont Honey.
