Gardaí detain tractor with tax 7 years out of date

A tractor was detained at a Covid-19 checkpoint in the midlands earlier on Saturday, October 24th.

The agricultural vehicle was stopped by Meath Crime Prevention’s Divisional Roads Policing Unit near Derver on N3.

In a post on social media, a spokesperson for Meath Crime Prevention said: “The tax had expired 7 years ago and both front tyres [were] bald.”

“The tractor was detained under Section 41 Road Traffic Act. [The] driver issued with fixed charge on-the-spot fines.”
