Fourteen pigs have been killed in a fire at a farm Bellaghy, Magherafelt.
Firefighters were deployed to the scene of the blaze on Thursday, October 1st at 11.44am.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS), said: “At the height of the incident six appliances were in attendance including two appliances from Lisburn Fire Station and one appliance each from, Magherafelt, Maghera, Cookstown and Kilrea Fire Stations.”
“Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two jets, two hose reel jets and a short extension ladder to extinguish the fire.” added the spokesperson who confirmed that the incident was dealt with by 3.31pm.”
“The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental ignition.” the statement concluded.
