A large entry of stock was presented for sale at Castlerea Mart on Thursday, February 27th, according to Brendan Egan.
The mart manager noted that despite adverse weather conditions, trade held firm for all classes of stock. “The bullock and heifer rings both reported good clearances with forward-type stores in strong demand, while in the weanling rings, quality lots are commanding some very fancy prices.”
“The dry cow trade is also holding firm both for the stores and heavier lots.”
“Breeding stock and calves reported good clearances also, with quality again the key factor in prices.” Egan added.
