In this week’s property segment, That’s Farming takes a look at three farms on the market with asking prices of under €300,000.

Leitrim farm

First up in Mohill in Co. Leitrim is a 27-acre farm with a number of outbuildings, which Marie J McCormack Auctioneering has introduced to the market.

According to the selling agent, the property in Tooman, has a number of agricultural sheds which include a three-bay slatted shed with a calf creep area, an indoor cattle crush, a hay shed and a lean-to.

According to McCormack, the lands are in permanent pasture and are “well” fenced and maintained.

The property is just 10km from Mohill, 7km from Drumlish and 17 km for Longford.

The estate agent has placed a price tag of €175,000 on this property.

Meanwhile, in Co. Mayo, Connaught Property Kenny and Tarpey are seeking offers in the region of €290,000 for a farm of land with sheds just outside Aghamore, Ballyhaunis.

The property comprises just under 33-acres of “top” quality agricultural land and an 8-bay shed/4-bay double: six-bay slatted area and a further two large dry pens.

The concreted farmyard has a cattle crush, meal bin/silo, a silage slab area, and a large holding area, with “ample” outdoor and indoor lighting as ESB and water connections.

According to Tarpey, the lands are “well” fenced, have water laid on in parts, a cattle holding pen and are “ideal” for silage or grazing.

The farm comes in three separate folios, and the property is just a 5-minute drive from the N17.

Sligo farm

Then, in nearby Co. Sligo, Sherry Fitzgerald Hanley is seeking in the region of €145,000 for a 19.5ac agricultural holding in Belclare, Aclare.

The property comprises an old stone cottage, a slatted shed, outbuildings, and a traditional two-storey farmhouse.

According to Gerard Hanley, lands are of “mixed quality”, but they have been farmed in recent years.

The derelict traditional two-storey farmhouse requires “complete” renovation, while the derelict old stone cottage is ideal for a DIY enthusiast.

In terms of the outbuildings, there is a 3-bay double-slatted shed with some cubicles.
