Post-auction report: €30,000/acre for land in Wexford

A circa 5.6-acre coastal holding exceeded its guide price by €38,000 when it went for auction last week.

Quinn Property guided the coastal holding in Ballynamona, Blackwater, Co Wexford at €130,000 ahead of the auction on Wednesday, September 1st.

Auctioneer, David Quinn, stated that the result demonstrates “the pent-up demand for land of all types, sizes and locations across Wexford and indeed, the south-east.”

“We had five bidders, mainly from non-agricultural backgrounds. It was fantastic to achieve a price of €30,000 per acre.”

He remarked: “The auction saw some coastal lands with stunning sea views brought to the market.”

“The property may have potential for a residential site, subject to the relevant planning permission being obtained.”

Furthermore, he said the property has an “excellent” location between Kilmuckridge and Blackwater, an area containing some of Wexford’s finest beaches. Read the full post-auction report.
