Farmer to donate proceeds from sale of cattle to hospital

A farmer is donating the proceeds from the sale of three cattle to the Friends of St. John’s Hospital, Enniscorthy, in Co. Wexford.

Philip Lacey’s three Limousin-cross beef heifers will be sold at Enniscorthy Mart, Co. Wexford on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020.

The animals were born in March and April-2018 and were TB-tested on March 16th, 2020.

‘A great asset’

Speaking to That’s Farming, the Garrydaniel, Monamolin, Gorey native, said: “I have a very good friend in the Alzheimer’s unit in St. John’s Hospital and I know how important this facility is to all the patients and to their families.”

“Also, during this Covid-19 pandemic, they might be able to buy something they need.

“It is a great asset to the people of the county and for everyone involved in this area – all the money is greatly needed,” he concluded.
