Exclusive: Tractor worth estimated €12,000 reported stolen

A €500 reward is being offered for information leading to the return of a Massey Ferguson 135, first registered in 1970, which has been reported as stolen.

The tractor, named Benny by its owners, was taken from a residence in Loughill, at Corryosla, Pontoon, Co Mayo in recent days.

It is understood that it was possibly taken on Thursday night (August 20th).

Speaking to That’s Farming, Mark Robertson, said: “We bought the tractor in May 2019 and had it reconditioned by Pat Brogan Tractors in Strokestown from whom we bought it.”

“None of us are farmers and purchased Benny to launch and retrieve boats from Lough Conn, on the shore of which our house is located.”

“We believe Benny is worth €12,000, which is what he cost including restoration.”
