Ewe dead, lambs injured in suspected dog attack

One ewe was killed and six lambs were injured on a farm in Wrexham, Wales, last Thursday night (March 14th).

The attack was suspected to have been carried out by a dog, although the dog has not been identified as of yet, according to the NWP Rural Crime Team.

The owner of the flock took to social media to convey their frustration: “Two lambs had to be put down. The bite is over their backs. One lamb had diaphragm punctured, another lamb was the lamb of the dead ewe.”

“1 lamb missing, from a pet ewe. Yesterday’s attack was all on good-sized lambs, both that were put to sleep were easily over 5kg. So a strong dog to be able to pick up a lamb that weight from above.” the social media post added.
