ShowStock.ie is hosting the very first Enniscrone Summer Belles online-timed sale for Ronan Gallagher’s Enniscrone flock in Co. Sligo.
The sale includes guest lots from the well-known Clew Bay Flock in Co. Mayo.
The Gallagher family established Enniscrone Texels in 1992 with the purchase of females from several local flocks. The aim has always been to “breed sheep with plenty of size and power that appeal to commercial sheep producers and pedigree breeders”.
The top lambs venture to Blessington every year, with many of them selling to pedigree flocks. Embryo Transfer plays a significant part Gallagher’s breeding programme.
He flushes his superior ewes every year to top UK and Irish sires. According to Gallagher, he has included some ET daughters from his best ewes in this sale.
ShowStock is “Ireland’s leading premier livestock catalogue”, working with some of the country’s largest and most successful breeders and societies to advertise their pedigree sales.
“ShowStock provides that vital link between the breeder, their livestock and the purchaser with our huge online & social media audience by offering a free online advertising platform, sale previews and timed online sale,” the founder told That’s Farming.
