
Ennis Mart’s opening sale of 2020 attracted a small entry of cattle on Tuesday, January 7th, according to a mart spokesperson.
“Trade in the cattle section kicked off where it finished pre-Christmas with strong demand and similar prices.”
“Quality was variable but strong demand for quality lots.” the spokesperson added.
A Small entry of suckler pairings pushed up to €1,390, while heifer runners climbed to €590 and bulls topped out at €755.

The spokesperson said that the sheep trade “opened on a high” with improvements of €10/head on pre-Christmas prices for fleshed hoggets.
