Ennis Mart attracted some 350 entries on Tuesday, January 14th, according to a spokesperson.
They reported good demand from both exporters and farmers in the bull ring, while the heifer trade was dominated by farmers.
“The weanling trade was very positive with many lots almost hitting and surpassing €3/kg in both rings. Trade could only be described as very positive in all rings.” the spokesperson added.
Suck calves peaked at €570, while Aberdeen-Angus-cross-types reached €170. In the other rings, suckler pairings climbed to €1,540, while runner heifers topped out at €625 and bulls pushed up to €750.
