Ennis Mart – cattle prices – 01-04-2021
A smaller entry went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Thursday, April 1st, 2021, according to a spokesperson.
They reported that trade held “very strong” with a top call of €2,790 for a Belgian Blue cull cow, weighing 860kgs.
“Numbers slightly back in both the heifer and the cow ring. Aged bulls were a very good trade too and averaged €1.99/kg with a BB of 960kgs hitting €2,000. Also, a very good LM bull of 990kgs making €1,840.”

Last week’s sale
A large entry of cull cows and heifers went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Thursday, March 25th, 2021, according to a spokesperson.
A small entry of bulls sold to a top call of €1,940 for a Limousin of 1,075kgs.
Speaking following the sale, the spokesperson said: “Again, some very fancy prices for some exceptional quality heifers. A very strong trade for cows today, both feeders and beef-type lots.”
Ennis Mart 30-03-2021
Over 1,100 entries went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, March 30th, 2021, according to a spokesperson.
They noted that that weekly cattle sale included over 250 calves.
“The lighter Friesian bull calves made €50 to €80 with the better calves making €90 to €160. A very good trade for beef breeds in the calf ring with Hereford-cross calves making to €395, BBX calves making to €460 and Limousin and Charolais calves to €475. “AA calves were a very good trade also and made €185 to €295.”
“Strong trade in suckler ring but good pairs available today and these made to €2,210. A handful of dairy stock made to €1,560. A strong trade was recorded for both bull and heifer weanlings.” the spokesperson concluded.
