Ennis Mart report – cattle prices – 29-04-2021

According to a spokesperson, some 450 lots were presented for sale at Ennis Mart on Thursday, April 29^th, 2021.

They reported that “trade held very strong all-round but no increase in prices on the week”.

“There were 20 aged bulls on offer, and some super bulls in these. Again some super cull cows through the sale, and some cows made €1,000 to €1,200 over their weight.”

Cattle prices last week

According to a spokesperson, almost 500 lots went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Thursday, April 22nd.

Speaking following the sale, a spokesperson said: “Some great cull cows and many with good flesh and these were well appreciated by the buyers. There was a great trade for the beef cow.”

“Heifer quality somewhat more variable but quality lots still attracting very strong prices.  A number of aged bulls on offer also and these met a strong trade and averaged €1.90/kg with a top call of €2,120 for a CH of 1,130kgs.”
