Ennis Mart report – sheep prices – 26-04-2021

According to a spokesperson, a larger entry of some 350 lots went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Monday, April 26^th, 2021.

They noted that a ewe and a pair of young lambs made €310, while trade for cull ewes held “exceptionally well”, selling to €166.

Speaking following the sale, the spokesperson said: “Numbers up in all categories today. Trade back today in all classes and spring lamb back €10 to €12 in line with factory quotes. Hoggets easier also but held a slightly firmer trade.”

• 4 49.5kgs – €175 – €3.53/kg;
• 11 44kgs – €154 – €3.50/kg;

According to a spokesperson, some 250 lots went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Monday, April 19^th, 2021.

They noted that numbers of spring lambs were up marginally, while fewer cull ewes and hoggets were on offer.

“Overall trade was similar to last week. Cull ewes were a very strong trade yet again and similar in price to the hoggets, making to €170. Ewes with pairs of lambs at foot made to €286 per lot.”

• 13 44.5kgs – €186 – €4.18/kg;
