Ennis Mart – Cattle Prices – 24-03-2022

As has been seen in various marts across the country in recent months, cull cow prices matched and, on some occasions, surpassed, those in the heifer ring on a €/kg basis at Ennis Mart on Thursday, March 24^th, 2022.

A spokesperson reported that the sale drew some “greatly fleshed” cows and heifers, which met with “a serious” trade.

“Good cull cows were an outstanding trade as can be seen from the prices achieved.”

“Cull cows were hitting €2.90/kg for the top lots. Likewise, the beef heifers were hitting almost €3/kg.”

“Meanwhile, a small entry of aged bulls averaged €2.09/kg and a Charolais of 970kgs made €2100.
