Ennis Mart – cattle prices – 23-11-2021 

According to a spokesperson, a smaller entry of just under 500 lots went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021.

They reported that trade was “a bit sharper in both rings” at its general cattle sale.

“Good quality suckler cows met strong demand also. The numbers of runners are getting smaller with heifers hitting €700 and bulls to €910.”

“Meanwhile, in-calf lots in the suckler ring made to €2,190 for a 2019-born SHX due in December to a Salers bull. A 2011-born CHX cow due in February to a Limousin bull hit €1,950.”

Last week’s cattle sale 

According to a spokesperson, weanling bulls and heifers met with a “slightly better” trade at Ennis Mart on November 16^th, 2021.

The spokesperson pointed out that numbers were “slightly” back on the previous week.

They added that runner heifers hit €730, while bulls pushed up to €890.

“A handful of calves were available, and these made to €380 for a Charolais heifer of 6-weeks-old.  A mixed run of suckler stock with an in-calf heifer hitting €2,180,” they added.
