Cattle prices up ‘slightly’ on previous week at Ennis

Ennis Mart – cattle prices – 18-01-2022

According to a spokesperson, a larger entry, consisting of over 500 entries, went under the hammer at Ennis Mart on January 18th, 2022.

They reported that trade improved for bulls with a “strong” trade for all weights.

They added that the heifer trade was “strong” with prices up “slightly” on the previous week.

“About 30 suck calves were available, and these met an excellent demand,” the spokesperson explained.

“A one-month-old Charolais bull calf made €560. Hereford bull calves made €330, and Hereford heifers topped out at €350 for 5-weeks-old.”

“Some great quality through the weanlings, which helped trade. In-calf lots made to €1,980 in the suckler ring and pairs made to €1,770,” the spokesperson added.
