Ennis Mart – sheep prices – 17-01-2022
According to a spokesperson, over 550 lots were on offer at Ennis Mart’s sheep sale on Monday, January 17th, 2022.
They reported that prices were back about €7/head, especially heavy lambs.
“The factory type lambs held better with a drop of €3-€5/hd,” the spokesperson commented.
“The cull ewes held the trade and made to €156. Ewes and lambs at foot made to €271 for ewes with pairs.” They added.

- 12 @ 58.5kgs – €158 – €2.70/kg;
- 12 @ 54kgs – €157 – €2.90/kg;
- 11 @ 55kgs – €157 – €2.81/kg;
- 11 @ 49kgs – €150 – €3.06/kg;
- 14 @ 44.5kgs – €140 – €3.14/kg;
- 11 @ 50kgs – €133 – €2.66/kg;
- 9 @ 48.5kgs – €133 – €2.74/kg;
- 10 @ 53kgs – €149 – €2.81/kg.

The Clare-based mart held its opening sale of the year on Monday, January 10th, 2022.
A spokesperson reported that just under 500 lots were on offer.
They remarked that “trade overall similar to pre-Christmas trade and a top shout of €169 for lambs”.
“Mostly heavy lambs were available and stores were scarce. Cull ewes hit €152 and a handful of breeders in-lamb made to €170.”
