Ennis Mart – Cattle Prices – 13-09-2022
According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, just under 650 lots crossed the scales at its most recent cattle sale on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022.
The spokesperson noted that trade “held steady” on the previous week, with farmers “very” active for bull weanlings for beef and to castrate.
Meanwhile, the heifer trade held “steady”, but “there was no increase in values”, with lighter 300kg lots being the hardest sold.
Also, there was a “very” small entry of suckler stock today and these topped out at €2,000 for an in-calf heifer with her time up.
The spokesperson noted:
“The numbers of runners increasing, and these met a fine trade but some lovely continentals available.”
“Heifer runners made to €870, and runner bulls made to €1,020. A dozen calves available, and these made to €500 for a 3-month-old Limousin bull,” the spokesperson added.
