Prices from €170 to €2,470 in steady trade at Ennis

Ennis Mart – Cattle Prices – 07-06-2022

According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, over 400 lots came under the hammer on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022.

The spokesperson noted that “trade held well but cattle were no dearer than the previous week”.

They explained that suckler pairs topped out at €2,480, while calves sold for up to €570, weanling bulls made up to €1,310, weanling heifers changed hands for up to €1,340 and in-calf lots topped out at €1,780.

The spokesperson noted that farmers and exporters were “active” in the weanling rings at last Tuesday’s sale.

  • LM – 271kgs – €920- €3.39/kg;
  • CH – 340kgs – €1,150- €3.38/kg;
  • CH – 290kgs – €870 – €3.00/kg;
  • LM – 315kgs – €1,140 – €3.62/kg;
  • 2 CH – 362kgs – €1,340- €3.69/kg;
  • 3 HEX – 423kgs – €990 – €2.34/kg;
  • LM – 335kgs – €1,140 – €3.40/kg;
  • 1 LM – 330kgs – €1,060 – €3.21/kg;
  • LM – 360kgs – €1,100 – €3.05/kg;
  • SIX – 260kgs – €780 – €3.00/kg.

Weanling bull prices:

Last week’s prices

According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, a smaller entry of some 450 lots came under the hammer at Tuesday’s sale (May 31st, 2022).

The spokesperson noted that the sale attracted a lot of autumn-born weanlings appeared and noted that these met with a “great” trade.

Overall, they noted that trade was “strong” all round in all rings.

The spokesperson said: “Bulls made to €3.91/kg and heifers made to €3.94/kg with a top price of €5.48/kg achieved for a Belgian Blue-cross heifer.”

“A special entry of in-calf pedigree Limousins made to €3,060. Suckler pairs made to €2,120, while in-calf lots made to €1,800.”Read more on this article.
