Ennis Mart – sheep prices – 05-07-2021

According to a spokesperson, over 600 lots were on offer at Ennis Mart’s sheep sale on Monday, July 5^th, 2021.

The spokesperson reported that the sale attracted “quite a number of nice quality” store lambs available today.

Lots in the 34 to 37kgs ranged from €103 to €107.

“Trade for lambs a shade sharper and generally up €2/hd with some lots up €5 on the week.”

“Cull ewes have remained a very solid trade and made from €103 to €170. Ewes with single lambs at foot made to €200,” the spokesperson added.

• 8 @ 54kgs – €145 – €2.68/kg;
• 6 @ 49kgs – €136 – €2.77/kg;
• 6 @ 54kgs – €138 – €2.55/kg;
• 5 @ 47kgs – €133 – €2.83/kg;
• 7 @ 45.5kgs – €133 – €2.92/kg;
• 18 @ 53kgs – €135 – €2.55/kg.

Store lambs:

• 10 @ 35kgs – €105 – €3.00/kg;
• 9 @ 37kgs – €116 – €3.13/kg;
• 7 @ 33.5kgs – €98 – €2.92/kg;
• 2 @ 36kgs – €101 – €2.80/kg;
• 6 @ 35kgs – €106 – €3.03/kg;
• 5 @ 37kgs – €115 – €3.11/kg.

Prices at last week’s sale:

According to a spokesperson, over 550 lots were on offer at the Clare-based mart on Monday, June 28^th, 2021.

“Stores were scarce. Prices back slightly in line with factory quotes.  Cull ewes still holding their own and these made to €176.”

• 13 @ 44.5kgs – €131 – €2.94/kg ;
• 7 @ 57kgs – €159 – €2.78/kg;
• 10 @ 46kgs – €134 – €2.91/kg;

• 8 @ 39kgs – €102 – €2.61/kg.
