Ennis Mart – Cattle Prices – 03-05-2022

According to a spokesperson for Ennis Mart, just under 850 cattle were on offer at its most recent sale on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022.

They noted that trade, in the bull and heifer rings, was similar to the previous week. They explained that exporters and farmers were active in the bull ring especially, while the heifer ring attracted “a small bit of shipping activity”.

Meanwhile, pairs in the suckler ring made to €2,580 and very few in-calf lots topped out at €1,950.

In the calf ring, almost 200 lots met with a “slightly stiffer trade”, except for “very good” entries.

Continentals hit €560, while Hereford-cross calves sold to €330, and Aberdeen-Angus-crosses fetched up to €245. Lastly, dairy stock topped out at €1,500.
