€3,240 for in-calf heifer at Elphin Mart

A 94% clearance was recorded in the cull cow ring at Elphin Mart on Monday, October 26th, according to Gerry Connellan.

The mart manager reported “very good demand for good quality”. The average price achieved was €1,139 as prices ranged from €280 to €1870 for a 935 kg Charolais.

Springers
  • 97% clearance of in-calf heifers, with an average of €1,873. Prices ranged from €960 to €3,240 for a Limousin-cross due the end of January to an A.I. Limousin bull.

  • < 300 kg – The average price achieved was €790 with a maximum price of €1,080 for a 290 kg Limousin;
  • 300-400 kg – The average price achieved was €917 with a maximum price of €1,330 for a 385 kg Charolais;
  • 400-500 kg – The average price achieved was €1,045 with a maximum price of €1,780 for 495 kg Belgian Blue
  • > 500 kg – The average price achieved was €1,205 with a maximum price of €1,480 for 580 kg Belgian Blue.
