Drumshanbo Mart held its first online sale on Friday (April 17th), followed by an organic sale on Saturday (April 18th), as reported by us here.
Eoin Kane, manager of the Leitrim-based venue, said he was “delighted” with the first weekend of online sales with purchasers from over ten counties represented.
“Online bids came in from as far away as Monaghan, Kilkenny, Galway and Meath,” he explained.
“Prices held up well with heifers making €2.30-€3.00/kg, bullocks selling from €2.30-€2.80/kg and dry cows fetching from €1.40-€1.70/kg.”
“Pre-auction viewing is strictly by appointment with the mart. Strict social distancing rules apply. Two viewers in the pens at any one time. Contact mart for details.”
