‘Now is the time’ for collaboration from primary producers, processors and retailers

East Galway TD, Anne Rabbitte, has asked for a video call to be set up by the Department of Agriculture to allow a Beef Task Force meeting to take place online.

Members of the Fianna Fáil party recently raised concerns over the struggles Irish beef farmers are facing currently.

In line with these issues, the East Galway TD tweeted saying that a meeting of the Beef Market Taskforce is essential and must happen as soon as possible.

In a recent social media post, she said “Now more than ever, it’s essential that these representative bodies meet up to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the beef industry.”

“If ever there was a time for collaboration from the primary producer, processor and retailers, now is the time,” she stated.
