A slightly smaller entry was presented for sale at Castlerea Mart on Thursday, November 5th, according to Brendan Egan.
He reported that trade “held up well”, especially for quality lots. “The heifer ring reported a good clearance with store heifers and breeding lots in strong demand with prices topping out at €3.05/kg.”
“In the weanling rings, quality was key as bulls peaked at €3.43/kg and heifer weanlings peaked at €3.26/kg. Overall, a good clearance took place.”
“Dry cows have noticed a dip in prices this week with larger numbers presented for sale, while breeding stock remains a good trade.”
