Court, a fine and penalty points for jeep driver

Fermoy RPU stopped the driver of a jeep and trailer in Rathcormac, Co. Cork earlier this week.

The motorist came to their attention after he was spotted on his mobile phone, although this was “the least of his problems”, according to Gardaí.

In a post on social media, a spokesperson, said: “Upon inspection, it turns out the driver had failed to attach a secondary coupling (breakaway cable) to the trailer which was loaded with two bulls!”

“It also transpired that the driver didn’t hold a trailer licence.” the post added.

The motorist received a fixed charge notice for holding a mobile phone, along with a €60 fine, 3 penalty points and a court appearance for no licence and no secondary coupling.
