In this week’s property segment, we take a look at listings on the market for €50,000 or less in Sligo, Roscommon and Kerry.

Sligo

First up in Co Sligo (main image), with a €30,000 price tag, is a 3-roomed detached cottage with a number of stone outbuildings on a 0.5-acre site.

According to Eamon Scanlon, of E & M Scanlon Auctioneers and Estate Agents LTD, the property has been vacant for “some time now” and, therefore, requires “total” refurbishment.

Commenting on the listing at The Crosses, Cloonloo, Cloonloogh, Co Sligo, the spokesperson said:

“This is your typical stone cottage that would make an ideal fixxer upper property that has a lot to offer to the right client.”

“The property is located within an easy 20-minute commute of Carrick-on-Shannon and a ten-minute commute of Boyle,” the spokesperson added.

Roscommon

Meanwhile, in Co Roscommon is a former shop/residence with outbuildings on a circa 1-acre site in Co Roscommon.

According to Ivan Connaughton of Connaughton Auctioneers, Main Street, Athleague, Co Roscommon, the property holds “huge potential” for use as a commercial and/or residential, being in a “much sought-after” area, circa 4 miles from Castlerea and Frenchpark.

The property firm is seeking €39,000 for this listing in Cloonfinglas, Fairymount, Castlerea, Co Roscommon.

Kerry

Elsewhere in the country, in ‘The Kingdom’ is a direct traditional-style stone cottage on 0.5-acres.

According to William Hennigan Auctioneer, the property offers “enormous potential for prospective buyers to purchase an existing derelict dwelling to be restored with adjoining outbuildings and adjoining lands”.

Moreover, there is also an option to purchase additional adjoining lands.

The property is circa 9km from Castleisland town, being on the main Castleisland to Limerick road.

The property in Dromaddamore, Lyre, Listowel, is for sale via IAMSOLD’s online platform.
