Man dies on Clare farm

A man (40s) was killed in an accident on a farm in Co. Clare earlier today (Friday, January 22nd).

The incident occurred in a farmyard in Doonaha, shortly before 12pm.

Farm accident 

In a statement to That’s Farming, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána, said:

“Shortly after 12 noon on Friday 22nd January 2021, Gardaí were called to Doonaha, Kilkee following an accident in a farmyard.”

“A man in his 40s was treated at the scene for serious injuries after a wall collapsed. He was pronounced dead a short time later. His body has since been removed to the morgue at University Hospital Limerick.”

“The local Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged. A file will be prepared in accordance with the Coroners Act.”

The Health and Safety Authority has said it is “aware of, and investigating the incident”.
