Charolais society ‘cannot guarantee’ if upcoming sales will go ahead

The Irish Charolais Cattle Society has issued a statement on the uncertainty surrounding their upcoming show and sales due to mart closures around the country.

The next show and sales are due to take place on Saturday (April 25th) at Tullamore Mart and Saturday (May 2nd) in Tuam Mart.

In a statement, a society spokesperson said: “We cannot guarantee if these sales will go ahead or not at this time. So, what we propose is that anyone who has bulls destined for these sales, to enter them as normal and if the sales are cancelled, your entries will be returned to you and you will not be charged.”

“We will, however, produce a sale catalogue with the bull’s details, star ratings and the breeder’s contact details for anyone who wishes to view the bulls on farm.”

Anyone wishing to enter their cattle into the upcoming sales and the catalogue can send pictures of the entries, along with their details, to – [email protected].

The entries submitted will be published on the Irish Charolais Cattle Society Facebook page.

“We hope this will help breeders get a sale for their bulls and assist our customers in identifying bulls at this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
