A number of chainsaws, hedge-strimmers, power washers and garden tools were stolen from a property over the weekend.
Slane Gardaí are investigating a break-in which occurred on Saturday night (July 4th).
All items have had the owner’s EIRCODE engraved onto them, according to a social media post from Meath Crime Prevention.
“Be wary if you are offered any items at a reduced price with identification marking on them. If you see any items for sale with an Eircode engraved onto them, make sure you do a check on them as there is a possibility that you are buying stolen property.”
“This could have serious implications for you as the buyer. If the suspects try and erase the EIRCODE from the items, the property will be damaged so think before you buy the item.”
“If you see any items for sale which you suspect are stolen let us know. If you have any information regarding the stolen property, please give the Gardaí a call on 046-9036100.”
